Qualification Code: UCCO-2

This qualification is aimed at those people in the water, gas or electricity industry who work
in a control room or communications centre. Candidate successfully completing this level 2 award will have demonstrated their competence against national occupational standards. The units of competence involved in this qualification are as follows:

Mandatory Units

• Unit 1 Co-ordinate communications for operational activities on utility
  networks and assets
• Unit 2 Contribute to the handling of incidents and resources
• Unit 3 Contribute to an effective and safe working environment

Option Group A (one unit from this section)

• Unit 4 Monitor and respond to alarms on utility networks and assets
• Unit 5 Organise the activities of field workers on utility networks and assets

Option Group B (one unit from this section)

• Unit 6 Monitor work progress of utilities field workers
• Unit 7 Contribute to developing and maintaining positive caller relationships
• Unit 8 Solve problems for telephone callers
• Unit 9 Communicate information electronically
